This is a very versatile item, I cook everything from fries to apple pie in it. Plenty of recipes online but do experiment. Excellent for reheating and for thinks like Tater Tots, Chicken Nuggets and Pizza Rolls. I make great twice baked potatoes, taste just like the restaurant version with almost no fat.One downside - the lock holding the basket in the lower drawer has lost its power after a year or so but it still works with care. Oh, and don;t use it under the counter too close to the wall, I have melted two (yes two) phone sockets!
After doing my homework I purchased the GoWISE air fryer, if the only thing it makes is French fries I still would be happy, the fries are perfect! But so is the fried chicken and the chicken wings and the way it cooks any frozen item from egg rolls to fish is amazing! Easy instructions for frozen foods, 400 degrees for 1/2 listed oven time. Each day I'll try something new and so far no disappointment ! Very pleased
I'm a guy that can't fry chicken - Now I Can - With NO oil - So far I love this unit
The purple one looks sooooo coooooool. It came a bit scuffed, even though it was labeled "new". came through for me, though, so I kept it.Honestly, I think this airfryer changed my life. Stuff I hated cooking before is now a breeeeeze. Chicken patties? In the airfryer. Boom. Done. French fries? In the airfryer. Boom. Done. Toast??? In the airfryer! Boom! Done! I even make fried chicken in it now because I don't need to heat up a quart of oil anymore! I hated cleaning up oil, and this thing let's me completely avoid that. It's honestly super easy to use. I line the bottom with foil so cleaning is even easier than their instructions.Only downside: the metal is quite soft. I dropped mine once and it left a dent. Luckily, because it's so soft, I was able to pound it back into shape so it fit in the machine again. I can't really blame them for that, though, so keep your 5 stars.
I purchased and have been using this air fryer for about a week; and have found it makes a great addition to my "kitchen tools". I am a 74 year old, gentleman retiree, and the 7-day-a-week cook in my household. In addition to my kitchen stove, I have: a 3-function multi-cooker; a regular slow cooker; two microwave ovens, and a 2 qt. special pressure cooker that I can use in one of my microwave ovens. I've found that the air fryer quickly produces dishes with far less prep, than if I was using one of my other-mentioned appliances. I've used my air fryer to grill a marinated 3/4 inch veal chop, and both a 1-1/3 lb pre-seasoned salmon filet and 3 large, marinated chicken thighs -- all of which came our wonderfully. SPECIAL NOTE: My one scary failure was that I tried to make white potato chips in my air fryer -- using 3 cups of thin potato slices. Unfortunately, I forgot to reduce the cooking timer from 15 minutes down to from 5 to about 8 minutes. After turning on the fryer, II sat on my couch [about 20 ft away], with my back to the counter where my air fryer was at work. All of a sudden, I got a sense of smoke in the room, and my smoke alarm going off. Shockingly, as I looked over my shoulder, I was stunned to see a column of heavy smoke billowing from the air fryer,... and, then being sucked up to the air vents in both our kitchen ceiling ... AND... by an air vent above me in our living room ceiling. I jumped up, rushed over to the air fryer, pulled out its power cord... and... then spent the next 30 minutes cracking the doors and windows to get rid of the smoke. When I opened the air fryer, the potato slices had been reduced to a small patch of charcoal. Sooooooo, you do have to pay attention when you're using your air fryer, and keep cognizant that it produces very high heat, that escapes from a rear blower on your air fryer, so make sure you sit your air fryer on a heat resistant sheet that will be between your air fryer on your kitchen counter top. All the above said, I heartily recommend this air fryer!!!
